Hi E,
The girls "cleaned" the floors, but it wasn't my idea of clean. I could still see the sticky spots where beer was spilled. And so, Poet, mother and patsy extraordinaire, vacuumed and washed the floors.
Your babysitting experience is so typical, you know. I think every one of us has an awful story. When I was very young, probably 14, I sat regularly for a colicky infant, who just cried much of the afternoon. These were the days of cloth diapers and safety pins. One afternoon after I changed her, she was more colicky than usual. After an hour or so, I changed her again and realized I'd stuck her with the pin. I was completely horrified. They did have me come back and I learned some important lessons that day. But I still feel awful about it. |
