You may well be right, but the bull case: (1) We have had a much longer than average, broad decline, especially in the Nasdaq. (2) We've had a really bad few months, ending just a few days ago - so are way oversold. (3) The VIX has been in the range for past lows (4) We are in October. It just seems to me that we are setting up for a rise over the next few years. No one knows the exact timing, of course, but I'd be careful going short here.
