LU Closed up only 5.56% on volume about 1.5x its daily average. There were good up ticks in the first 30 minutes as well as in the last 30 minutes. (More than 10M shares were traded in each period.<g>)

The last 30 minutes performance may be due in part to Patricia Russo's comments on CNBC stating that she expects LU to be profitable in 2003.

LU still has more than 5.4B in cash (about $1.58/share) and insiders and institutions have reportedly done some buying lately.

It needs to get over its October 17-October 2 double-top at the $0.85 level, before it can try to climb back above $1.<g> (And it still seems it has a long way ahead for it to close its June 3 down-gap.<G>)
