People whose aspirations have been nurtured create more; people who respect and celebrate life are less likely to practice and preach hatred; and people who enjoy life are less likely to be destructive.
Fine sentiments. When you get the likes of Joe Stalin, Adolph Hitler, et al, to agree to try to raise less aggressive populations, it might even work. But doing it unilaterally works as well as unilateral disarmament.

The real question is, should arts and culture and public spaces that inspire and enhance life be government funded. I believe that to a degree, they ought to be, though there is a place for private funding as well.
Oh. Well. And where shall we draw that line? I think sailing is very much a fine art. You and Poet should provide money for me to buy yet another boat. OK?
