I think that FADG is a microcosm of the polarization of politics in the US today.

There aren't many places where every political position can debate on an equal playing field, but FADG is one.

The left and the right have become much more polarized over the past few years, starting with the Clinton impeachment, and escalating.

My own take on it is that the left has always been more polarized - this is based on my experience during VietNam, where I hung out with people from SDS.

The right was far less politicized until the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives in 1995, the first time they were in control since 1954.

Since then, the US has become more and more polarized, to the point that we seem to live on different planets.
