Medicare doesn't pay for 100% of everything. It only pays 80% of doctor bills, and doesn't pay for prescription drugs. That's why I advise Medigap policies. My mother was recently very ill, required a lot of surgery, and a long hospital stay. She did not have Medigap, and owes a lot of money she can't pay.
