KLP, Yes, the customs of the countries of the many, and varied, immigrants who have come here to make a new life, should be a part of their lives, and if we are smart, it would be educational for us to know them also. We can hardly deny immigrants to keep their customs, as when the white Europeans first came here, that is all they did. They cared less about the customs, and lifestyles, of the natives that greeted them on their arrival, so why should we do less. That being said, in the world of commerce, and trade, the English language should be spoken by all those that want to participate. English is the language of the US, whether one chooses to call it the "official" language or not. It's like the old saying, "when in Rome".
