Oh, for crying out loud. That was a suitably eponymous contribution here, but the first couple google hits tell a different tale: pir.org -- Given the dismal prospects of a political formula being worked out to prevent Allende's designation as president by Congress, remaining alternatives centered around overcoming the apolitical, constitutional-oriented inertia of the Chilean military. The PIR website might not be totally reliable, but I doubt that they went through the trouble of putting up fake facsimiles of FOIA documents. A more conventional source: cnn.com
