Exactly the point I was trying to make earlier, but she insists on painting the world as a Republican scandal sheet. Just pointing out the obvious, but its like talking to a brick wall :-)

And yes I read about '29! Its very similar, but then 9/11 on top of the mess.

I remember thinking in 2000, that whoever wins , they might wind up wishing they hadn't since the economy was already sinking. Then the scandals and the bubble collapsed.

The response to 9/11 and the war might wind up saving Bush.

In general it is the economy. We elected Clinton over 41, solely on economic isses - 41 had been a great President, but people vote with their pocketbooks. We then re-elected Clinton because we were in a boom (and who wants to mess with success?).
