GM and other major U.S. corporations don't have enough money to fund their pension plans... The U.S. treasury has been using the Soc Sec surplus to prop up the general fund... At some point the game of borrowing from Peter to pay Paul will not be fun anymore when the music stops and there isn't enough money to meet current needs... Turning the economy around should be the highest priority... National Security costs money... A growing economy helps us fund the war on terrorism... It will be interesting to see what the Republican controlled Executive and Legislative branches can do to provide guns and butter...
