...there needs to be some significant changes in the trial procedure of capital cases. There is no way in the world that it "should" cost that much to sentence a criminal to death, and to carry out that sentence. Maybe we need to go back to the old ways in Texas. A grass rope don't cost much, and there are a lot of suitable trees to get the job done.

Wrong. When the state kills someone it's far more important than when an individual does it.

Even the wretched murderous thugs running Iran have to put up a big show in a capital case.

The state must look serious when it trys and kills people. This can't be casual. The reason is the power - are you looking at justice or tyranny? That is why the execution of an innocent person for murder is far more important than the murder. You can't get around that. Its one of the few things the left gets right these days.

Capital trials should be time consuming and expensive.
