frank, Why did you take the "grass rope" comment so seriously?? Do you, really, think anyone in the modern age would want to go back to lynching, or haphazard executions?? The main point I was trying to make, is that capital cases are costing too much money, regardless of the outcome. Because of too much caution, we have murderers like O.J.Simpson running around, thumbing their noses at legal authority. If you want to molly coddle murderers, so be it. I don't. It would be a better use of time, and money, to find a way to compensate the victims, or their families.
