No no no.... "The Fly" is one of his first tries at the subject. Do try watching "Crash", where he goes into the union of the human flesh and the cold steel of mechanical objects.

I like all his movies, "eXistenZ", "Naked Lunch", and "Dead Ringers", in particular. So does your husband, I guess, so despite the very high weirdness coefficient of these movies, I can trust you to be not so judgmental on this issue :)
