Thanks, that's a superb article and a scary poster...

Especially ironic since the Mayor mentioned used to be known a 'Red Ken'. He took over the London Labour party via backroom deals back in ~1980, the day after they were elected (they'd never have won if he were leading them before). He then ran the GLC on very LW lines - he was far-left socialist, verging on Trotskyite... London was dsignated a 'nuclear-free zone' (yeah, sure it was. and that would have stopped the missiles, too...), GLC was pro-IRA, anti-capitalist, etc etc. Eventually he ruined London by provoking Thatcher into dissolving the GLC, thus removing functional local government from the capital.
IMO he's a smarmy, unscrupulous, power-hungry unprincipled spiv.

So, given that the US and UK appear to be competing for the title of "Most hypocritical and contradictory steps takne puportedly in the name of 'freedom'"... how's Canada these days, any room?
