Alex and all APOLOGY FOR INCORRECT INFO

Two days ago, I posted what I now believe to be an incorrect fact, in regard to the maximum power output permitted under unlicensed (US FCC Part 15) use of the 902-828 MHz.

I stated here that 1 Watt was way in excess of what's allowed. I did a little research to back up my statemment and found I was wrong.

Two sources --- one in no way connected with this thread or SI --- have informed me that 1 Watt (+30 dBm) *is* legal -- in fact the 1 watt can even be input to a 6 dBm gain antenna, making it the equivilent of FOUR watts EIRP toward the direction of the gain.

I'm surprised. One of the folks who was kind enough to correct me was also surprised. We're surprised. I apologize to you and to any others who accepted my criticism of WaveRider on *those* grounds.

Nevertheless, something still smells fishy here, IMO.

I, for one, would like someone (from the company) to supply technical information that states the technology --- how is it different than MCOM Richochet, somewhat established with a base of loyal customers, that *also* uses this spread spectrum on this unlicensed band [at 1 watt! :-)]? What/how/who is WaveRider being manufactured and distributed?

I'm open to being convinced.

But again, my apologies to all for my fast trigger finger.
