After the law was passed that gave Native Americans the right to confiscate and bury bodies which had been exhumed on "their" land, I don't think enough research has been done on pre-historic American DNA yet.

My own "guess" is that there were at least two waves from Asia to the Americas, maybe more.

The first wave may have consisted of people who were more "Caucasoid," in the sense that the Ainu are more "Caucasoid" than later Japanese, see, e.g., Kenniwick man. That skull most closely resembles modern Ainu.

I also suspect contact between Australoids and Central or South America.
