He robbed Crowe blind! :o}
"So let us go to Rome and suckle on the fat whore...."

But Crowe still got his.
"Call me Maximus Decimus Meridius....."
"Unleash Hell"
etc.

Gladiator had some fabulous lines, the Maxeeeemooooos chant scenes will be enshrined in the movie Hall of Fame. Ridley Scott has surpassed David Lean in my view. He da man!

L.A. Confidential was a stunningly good movie. Not one bad scene. Once in a while a movie comes along that is PERFECTLY cast. L.A. Confidential was one of those. OK give me your top three "perfectly cast" movies.

Here's mine:

A Bridge Too Far
The Train
L.A. Confidential

Runner up:
Treasure Island - the remake with Oliver Reed, Christian Bale, Charleston Heston, a host of British Character Actors including Peter Postelwaith (sp?)

Guess I'm partial to the Brits and Aussies, huh?

BTW I first saw Reed in "Women in Love;" was hooked. He then outdid himself in 3 Musketeers. When Sean Connery goes, I'll be devastated.
