"The Last of the Mohicans" is my all time favorite period epic. Whenever I watch it I can think of a dozen more like it that ought to be made.

For example, tradition says that around the same time in 1750, the Chippewa (CB's folks) finished kicking the Sioux out of northern Minnesota. There were a lot of battles back and fourth, and also instances of forbidden love between members of opposite tribes. Some European traders and trappers around too, marrying into the tribes. Enough material for a movie, I think.
