I can agree with that. But I also agree with Senator Kyl's assessment of what is happening. Since there WERE several conservative pundits that jumped on this bandwagon to condemn Lott, the Democrats have decided to make it policy to vilify him. Kyl said,just as I said yesterday, that Democrats will circle the wagons around their people, while in some cases the Republicans throw theirs overboard.

You can already see the DNC talking points being spoken by other Democratic pols. An example is smooth talking Democratic Congressman Ford. This morning, in an interview on Imus, he upped the anty to include President Bush, in implying that Bush cannot be effective if he has to work with Lott. Let's wait and see how many times that is repeated over the next few days.
