Treatment of German PoW: I didn't study the subject but personally I never heard anything bad about treatment in the USA or GB whereas I have three relatives who were in Russia for years, one of them for more than a decade. They were kept in Gulag-like conditions, it was a miracle that they survived and returned. It took them a long time after returning to adapt to civilized life again. One of my grand uncles told me he was unable to sleep in a bed or eat normal food in normal quantities for many months.
