In Canada, the most deaths by handguns are caused by depressed policemen shooting themselves.
It would appear that taking guns away from the police would significantly reduce the number of deaths by hand gun. Logic suggests that registering step ladders is also a good idea. More people are killed falling off step ladders than by firearms.

The government of Canada should surely be able to register all step ladders, extension ladders and rope ladders in the country for under $2 million.

Allan Rock would be able to redeem himself and the country would be a safe place again. People would be confident in the government's ability to handle complex things like the Kyoto Accord.

Joke: What would you call a self-serve dinner party for vampires, where tainted blood was served and all the vampires died?
