N.Korea to expel U.N. inspectors Friday December 27, 6:42 am ET ; By Paul Eckert ; Reuters SEOUL, Dec 27 (Reuters) - North Korea announced on Friday it would expel U.N. nuclear inspectors monitoring a reactor capable of producing plutonium for nuclear weapons, news agencies in neighbouring South Korea and Japan reported. South Korea's Yonhap news agency and Japan's Kyodo news agency both quoted North Korea's state news agency, which earlier accused the United States of seeking to overthrow the isolated and impoverished communist state's political system. The North's Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) said a U.S. demand that it scrap its nuclear programme as a condition for talks was a prelude to a surprise U.S. attack. Britain, Washington's closest ally, denounced North Korea's recent conduct as "very worrying, dangerous and unacceptable". But China, North Korea's chief ally, and Russia both dismissed U.S. suggestions that they were dragging their feet and called for dialogue between Washington and Pyongyang to defuse the crisis -- a course the United States is resisting. remainder of article @ biz.yahoo.com
