Clearly, we need fundamental changes in our trade policies. If the American economy is going to survive, if our workers are to earn a living wage, corporations are going to have to start reinvesting in the United States. William: To industrially compete with the China's and Mexico's of the world we'd need a giant leap in productivity gains... A more likely scenario is to go with our strengths in information technology and related hardware and software... The Microsofts and Intels are where we can compete and win because we are the best at innovation... As long as we can maintain our technological edge we have an oppty to successfully re-engineer the U.S. economic landscape... Jim
