Yeah, I can see the US talking with the Russians and Chinese about what happens to NK after it is defeated. But I can't see either of them favoring NK. They are also potentially its targets and they know it. Neither will miss it if it is destroyed.
NK may also use medium range rockets to drop warheads on American bases and upon cities in Japan further driving up the causalties.
Again, launch likely.
NK may even try to drop a long range ballistic missile or two with possibly nuclear warheads on Alaska or Hawaii.
Anf the northern half of the Korean peninsula glows in the dark for the next thousand years.

Oh, AND if NK launches on the US? That brings in NATO.
