Trufflette. Ahh, the old Proctor & Gamble strategy. Yes, even I have taken to doing silly things to hedge against a crash, like buying a gold stock (CMYN) near its 52-low of 6. Not much - 500 shares - just enough to demonstrate a foolish fear of crashes. And I bought 1500 APM (average cost ~30) with it's low PE of 8. I ended up selling the 1700 trading shares of IOM last week (never touching my core 1200) for a paltry 350 profit, then bought 900 back on Thursday at the high of the day. It's all part of my "churn and burn" strategy. And people actually pay brokers to do this for them! Hah, I can do it myself.
