The reenactors can really get into it. Have you read "Confederates in the Attic"? An excellent immigrant/Yankee writer tries to understand the Confederacy. He describes hardcore reenactors who refuse to participate in the battles because they are not realistic enough. The cover photo of one such is worth the price of the book, IMHO.
