Ah, the mystery of the missing post is solved. Despite my clear statement at the end of it that I would not post again if someone objected, which was meant to be above board and in the open, some anonymous coward(s) chose the route of complaining instead to SI. SI chose the easy route of censorship, sending me the directive "Please refrain from using this type of humor in the future."

I tried to find out more about what in particular the anonymous complainers didn't like, but either they weren't specific, or were incapable of expressing themselves. That reminds me of the infamous supreme court justice who set the standard that "I know pornography when I see it." Try living up to that standard (particularly since I think he is dead now).

So, I'm left to ponder just what it was that offended those anonymous someones. Was it my use of Ebonics? I thought that was legitimized by the university in California. Perhaps it was the parody of presenting a stock trader as a pimp (now that word is in Webster's, and shouldn't offend anyone), and their working capital as working girls. It sure seemed to me that the comparison was valid, and for the more sensitive among us, I would remind them of laws allowing certain things in states such as Nevada. Or perhaps it was to use of T___ and A__ for the TA in technical analysis, and the appreciation of curves expressed therein. If that term offended someone, I definitely suggest they avoid the play "A Chorus Line," which is where I first heard that term. I doubt that it was my technical analysis of IOM, where I very accurately called Wednesday's runup.

Most likely it was persons of limited education and comprehension, who in their haste to judge and condemn others (anonymously, of course) utterly failed to see the relevant messages in that post, and probably lack the ability to appreciate any literature more complex than the Sunday comics. It's unfortunate that SI took the easy way out with censorship, for the end result of that path is a bland stew of politically correct banter. We are all reduced to the lowest common denominator by censorship.

I join Mark Twain as a fellow banned author. If anyone is interested, I would be more than happy to email you a copy of the aforementioned post.
