I think that one thing about CHKP is becoming apparent.

CHKP's subscription /defered revenues are outgrowing actual new purchases.

There are many software companies that have moved to subscription based revenue. Although very different, CTXS and CDN moved to subscription based revenues. Each did it during the bubble, and were a share price disaster based on a subscription model. Its like the difference between the tourtise and the hair.

Of course the share disaster here has already happened too. For the last year or so this company makes 24 or 25 cents per quarter. Things are flattening. Its life in the "flat" lane. (Ha,like The Eagles song)

The CC has Q2 flat with Q1, but hopes for something better. This is less that they hoped for in the last CC, so I guess thats a warning for Q2. Or is it really life with subscriptions?

Having said all this, its the future of the software business. Any viable software company hopes they can make that move.

This fine company is maturing into one who is increasingly maintaining its regular customers.

* All IMHO **
