There's nothing wrong with having multiple reasons for removing the Butcher of Baghdad. There is little doubt that comapssion for the Iraqi people was an important facet & it was a consideration, even in how the war was prosecuted.
In fact, on re-reading the thread, you may have seen my POV on this very subject in this post........

So when it comes down to it, there were indeed multiple reasons for this war. Sadly, compassion alone would have been soundly rejected even more than the legal & just reasons of the cease fire agreement violations & the terrorist links to Saddam.
IMO, we need to back off from political posturing, agendas & undermining each other at every opportunity with so much outrageous behavior. What gets accomplished with spurious allegations? Why is it necessary to have countless conspiracy theories? Why do so many people have to use outrageous lies, blatant distortions, deceit & misleading BS as the main thesis of their attacks on others?
What we need to do is cut the crap, be honest & civil about our differences. Then we can focus on what we want to accomplish for America & what is needed to achieve global peace & prosperity, free from terrorism, WMD's & tyranny.
Looking around SI, the media & America today, I already know that is beyond the comprehension of most so called normal Americans.
Sorry for dumping on you WUWT. It wasn't directed at you. I just had to get it out of my system.
