...who needs a "system" when we got MD and Libby?

LOL!....I just read this remark!

My problem has always been that I'm usually "too bullish" on various stocks. I always seem to find positive factors when others seem to "see" the negative factors.

When I posted this remark I had just helped my father with his computer, and discussed his approach to the various stocks he owns. He is "the original" buy and hold investor...as is almost everyone in my very large extended family. I am probably the only family member who actively trades stocks...and the rest of my family all think I'm a little "nuts" to so closely follow the market. As out of favor as "buy and hold" seems to be... I would think that there has to be a large percentage of those invested in the stock market who would be classified as "buy and hold" investors.

Those who remain invested in the market have made the choice to remain invested in the market. IMO those who wanted to be out of the market probably have already sold. I would think that this might be a factor when considering market direction...those still holding stocks might be the "long term" buy and hold type of investors, and maybe they won't be influenced to sell by a market downturn?

IMO the market is reacting to various news events that all seem positive. I'm not wildly bullish...but I'm also not bearish as many seem to be feeling.
