>>snubbing these folks in France, Russia and Germany is somewhat premature.<<

The confrontation over Iraq invasion has become more and more fundamental between Bush government and the traditional allies since Bush sent troops to invade Iraq and set fire in the Middle East region. It's no longer a short-term dispute between friends, I am afraid.

On one side, the US government is sending troops to invade Middle East countries, which is pushed by Israel and the US Zionists for their own endeavor and cause. On the other side, France Germany Russia and other countries feel the real threat that their oil supply from Middle East will be gradually taken over by force and controlled by the other country and they are reacting.

The conflicts between the traditional allies is getting real.

France Germany Belgium and Luxembourg act to protect their interests under the new situation and declared on April 29 they were setting up their own European military headquarters for operations outside the NATO arena. (Obviously, the great changes of the relationship between the old allies is one of the consequences of the Iraq invasion).

Bushies hope the strategy "Punish France, ignore Germany and forgive Russia." will work but I doubt it.
