John, Some of those are great, some so-so, and from personal experience some are untrue. I have three cousins that are/were military pilots. One, a USNA grad, was the one that lived the life of the typical image of fighter pilots...YOU knew he was a pilot and you knew when Happy Hour started, if you were around him for a few minutes. But a great guy, that dropped dead of a heart attack two months after retiring. Life ain't fair! One, a Army pilot currently in Iraq, is single and looks like a movie star. Why do some guys get all the luck? Women do unnatural things to him merely on his looks and then they find out he is a pilot they...well this is a public board so I won't go there. The other was a Marine pilot with 165 combat missions and you would never know he was a pilot. Most subdued man in the world. Guess that is why NASA selected him for the space program and why at one time he held the record for time spent in space. He is retired now from NASA and would venture a guess that he is one of few that actually has a MD degree and has never practiced medicine. Instead, he is a teacher that hopes to train other students to have his dream come true for them.
