If you're counting on 300mm conversions to drive WFR stock price next year, you're betting on the wrong horse. Current industry forecasts call for pilot lines in '98-'99, shifting to production around 2000, with volume crossover between 2002 (earliest) and 2005. Your investment strategy should be focused on 200mm and 200mm epitaxial wafers. 300mm requires billions upon billions by the semi mfr's, and they need to sort out a WW capacity glut in the meantime. Try sourcing details thru Dataquest or perhaps Pathfinder Research. This is not a stock for the short term investor.
