wait a minute... oh come on laz... you can't possibly think that- Telephone? Electric power? Or are those suddenly not infrastructure? Telephone is NOT self supporting! It is supported in two ways by the government, first by the R&D provided to phone companies thanks to large infrastructure projects like GiG-BE. Second and more important are the monopolies the government maintains which keep the rbocs alive. Telephone is the most corrupt, the most subsidized industry in the US. I can't believe you think this is a model worth admiration. The good news is, despite the relentless prop by the government, cable continues to eat the rbocs lunch.
