Mish, i watch the debate between you and Russ and others on the epic thread for how interest rates are related to inflation or deflation as the case may be. as you know i agree with much of what you say. however, i think that inflation is 'starting' to show itself in some finished goods. i don't know how wide the spectrum is, or how far the prices are going up. in general i think we will get some inflation before the big deflation. but i really don't know, as the price increases i've seen haven't been too large.

anyway, it would be interesting to see what differences there are in recent prices, don't you think?

if there's a decent contribution here, we might have a better idea as to what is actually happening regarding inflation, rather than relying on the government for the information.

if you notice some falling prices please post them. i'll look for falling prices too, but i have to admit that i'd more readily notice rising prices, (and i'll try to keep that in mind).
