Anyone disbelieve the government's inflation data?

Here's a chance to track it ourselves.

The focus of attention should be 'finished products' because raw materials prices are already tracked, and there are many more finished products than raw materials. Also, finished products more accurately and timely indictate inflation or deflation.

A finished product, to me, is the anything that gets sold to the end user as new. Examples would be food, airplane tickets, cars, doctor bills, insurance, medicine, homes, rent and so on.

Please put the old and new prices in your posts as well as an estimation as to how long ago the old price was in effect. The date of the new price will be reflected in the date of your post.

it will be interesting to see the direction and magnitude of price changes.

Thanks for any contributions!
