A resolution to the strike has been announced. The details haven't. I'm not sure how UPS can take back all of its employees, and with better benefits, when volume will probably not be as good in the medium term. Short term, they could see a spike in volume as those who delayed shipping til after the strike unload their packages.

In other news, FDX is being sued by the Teamsters for firing an employee who tried to convert FDX employees to Jimmy's cult. Looks like a baseless suit, and maybe is even positive as it suggests UPS is active in trying to weed out the Teamsters from its ranks. Can't see how a jury can blame FDX for trying to keep out Teamsters after the devastation they wreaked on UPS. But who knows how Wall Street will take the news?

The end of the strike makes this thread somewhat obsolete, but I'd still like to discuss the other carriers in the aftermath of the Teamster walkout. Again, I think the strike will prove to be a long-term positive for other carriers, but only time will tell for sure.
