Yes, Jim, I believe you have it right. We need to be passionate with our loved ones, compassionate with people going through difficult times, and dispassionate as we decide where investment opportunities lie. I believe Walt Whitman said that "I am large enough to contain contradictions." To be alive is to deal with seemingly irresolvable contradictions.
