Sober as a judge is the rule
LAGOS (Reuter) - Judges of traditional courts in eastern Nigeria's Abia state have been told to stop drinking beer and palm wine in local bars to preserve an image of sobriety, a newspaper said on Tuesday.
The Daily Times quoted court president M.N. Mba as telling judges: "Drinking beer and palm wine in bars or parlors with everybody is not in consonance with judiciary ethics on discipline, decency and decorum."
Discipline, decency and decorum. What a concept, maybe I'll give it a whirl. There are people on the Tribute to Diana thread showing clear signs of disrespect for things held dear by many threaders, but a determined exercise of the 3 D's will hold me back from going over there and commenting on the myopic and xenophobic arrogance of many of the nation who call themselves "Americans", their delusion that they invented and enjoy "freedom", and the deviant sexual practices of their military, particularly the submariners. The world will be more peaceful this way, and that will be a Good Thing.
The joke, you ask?
