Thanks for your explanations. Could I ask a favor from someone. Would someone please explain how silicon is harvested for wafers. I understand that it is farmed, that sand is used and perhaps other things as well.

I had an article that explained a little bit about it. But I lost it.

PS: Larry, I won't argue with you about how wafers are categorized. You say they are a commodity so I suppose it is true.

But as technology changes and becomes more sophisticated, I believe chips will play a greater role in our lives because the devices that we use will contain chips. In the long-run chips will be cheaper to use in the end products whatever they may be.
