Larry, The story's on the front page so I don't know if you need a subscription to read it. Actually, it can't be copied and pasted. I think that they want readers to visit
the site. The article indicates that LGND's diabetes deal has become a hot topic on
internet chatter boxes and other places.
They quote LGND as hoping that it will be announced this month. WLA deal is
downplayed. Likely partner is with a company without an oral treatment. LLY is listed
as top candidate, but JNJ is also mentioned. They think that a JNJ deal with LGND
could be a major minus for AMLN, but could be cocktail treatment would be used.
They cite David Molowa (Bear Stearns) as saying LGND wants "alot" but offers
"alot". H&Q analyst is quoted as saying these deals always take "longer than you
think". They also mention the ALRI call.
