When fund managers and analysts start saying that 'new money should look at another sector but if you're already holding energy stocks not to sell' that always makes me wary. Maybe the oil sands names will enjoy some more media attention, though. Maybe they are classified as 'alternative energy', but perhaps they participate in a sideways/down market. So, I'll hold oil sands.

For energy stocks in general, maybe it is time to be cautious. I wouldn't be surprised to see the energy trusts weak after ex-div next week. So, I lightened and may lighten a little more.

As for Coxe on the miners, most of the miners' charts don't look much better than the energy charts. They seem to have started their selloff a day or so later, though. Maybe their selloff will be shorter but I'm out of some miners (PCU, SID, RIO, FAL) and waiting for a reentry. Looks like FM.TO just did a double top, although the big caps BHP and RTP did seem to take out their spring highs.
