Actually, you are in pretty good company.
As I recall, Andy Grove has said that by the year 2017 technology
will have progressed to the point that the physical limitations of
silicon will have been reached. A new substance will be necessary.

(Personally, I'm planning on lightening up on my WFR position around
mid 2015, to avoid any panic selling.)

There was some talk a few months ago about an alternative to silicon.
I do not recall the name, off hand. Again, as I recall, it was currently pretty expensive even compared to silicon, and the current
"simple"(?) processors wouldn't realize enough of a performance
increase for the extra dollars spent.
