a building fell that was not hit by aircraft
Would you care to verify that?

only had two minor fires
Those were MINOR fires?????

even though no steel framed building had ever fallen due to long lasting major fires
Did you know that building standards (codes) had changed? The concrete used to be encased in cement- -good protection against fire. The disadvantage was that the weight of the concrete limited building height. Then the concrete was replaces by layers of asbestos. Still pretty good insulation. Then the problems with asbestos came to light and it was outlawed. A protective spray replaces it, but does not provide nearly as much protection. So you end up with the WTC buildings that are vulnerable to fire. The thought that high buildings could collapse due to fire occurred to those people you choose to consider stupid long before you were born.

the steel from the WTC was quickly sent out of the country for recycling at foreign mills (despite the obvious need for structural analysis)
Has it ever occurred to you that they wanted to clear the site to be rid of the reminder of what had happened? And they WERE planning on putting something else there, although that took much longer than they initially believed it would.

However, you may continue to believe in witches, dwarves, and fairy godmothers as long as you choose.

Let me introduce you to zonder. (She's a liberal, BTW.)

She is wrong about that transmission part there, BTW. Asbestos does slow up the tansmission of heat.

There are parts of that I'd agree with- -like why calculate to 2 or 3 decimal places when you're going to multiply by 3 anyway?

I didn't the structures course she refers to; I did take Strength of Materials. It is part of the engineering core curriculum.

That's basically an explanation of why you use reinforced concrete- -steel is strong in tension and concrete is strong in compression.

There are people who know something about these matters. I suggest you listen before going off on wild tangents.
