Mark Steyn... who's views on public healthcare you bolded
Message 20750180
Now Mark is a decent view from the right on many things but interestingly he doesn't present the other side of public healthcare ... a few examples.. France's system is very highly rated and publicly funded. Alberta .. Can-do province in Canada ... home of budget surpluses, low taxes, rednecks (accusation by Liberal media and jealous easterners but NOT ME :o), I think they are a fine example for Canadians) have a publicly funded hip and knee replacement clinic record of fine state of the art surgery with only a two week waiting time... Simply amazing...
Here You basically take Mark's word for the French Healthcare system... He offers only conjecture... and hypothethis here Message 19665586
Here is a post I made on the topic in 2004... Message 19963098 So I assume you are not pro public healthcare...

BTW I voted Conservatives in our recent Federal election up here.. I had reservations only because I do not want Canada involved in the US missile defense plan if it involves American soldiers on our turf... the normal cross training of soldiers is fine.. I am greatly encouraged by Alberta and it's Conservative government.

OTOH I pretty well concur here...
Message 20127482

Here well a conservative viewpoint but yeah Michael Moore is a bit over the top :O)
Message 22042047
Not generally my cup of tea.. Like Rosie O'Donnell he thinks he knows what is best for Canada... Then again so does your current ambassador to Canada :.. but I don't know if he is a liberal or conservative... And I watch that sappy film every Christmas... because lest we forget ... It's a Wonderful Life :O)

Yep. Completely agree.. :o)
Message 22108511 Stick to the Internet Al..

Some decent points here though... NOT a Red herring FWIW ... My kids (2) are in French School, Spanish will be easy to learn .. My youngest sister lives in California.. Fluent in French she picked up credible Spanish in a few months and now is fluent... My kids are also learning Mandarin... Why ? well I guess it's nice because I'm one quarter Chinese... but frankly it has little to do with culture (we're Cantonese anyway) and everything to do with options... Who knows... China may be a better place to ride out these demographics if they continue to be problematic...

In summary, to clarify my use of the word 'tone' these sample posts of yours seem to me to indicate a leaning towards agreeing with conservative writers unless I am misconstruing your use of bold.
I am pro the Afghan intervention and support our increased participation.
I think the Iraq intervention was plain wrong on the purported grounds and from my perspective maybe the Alberta oilsands are at risk... note your ambassador to Canada's very recent comment on our Prime Minister elect's decision to enforce Canadian arctic sovereignty....
I am pro public healthcare but up here we need to use the Alberta model otherwise yes the waste is atrocious and the electorate too often falls for ... we'll throw more money at it.
I want fair taxes and good value... High is a relative term.
I am pro public education. It doesn't do enough.
I am against religion in schools. Religion is my business. My kids go to Sunday school at our Church. I listen each Sunday to what they have learned. I do not agree dogmatically with everything and explain why to them. They must learn to think for themselves. They could go to Catholic school and not require the extra burden of Sunday School but that is against my principles.
I am pro keeping the honoring of Christian holidays in schools as it is part of our tradition. Don't like it ? Don't come here. As to offensive it is quite simple to prefix any religious Christian statements with 'Christians believe'. Case closed.
I am not pro abortion and decry the rhetoric on both sides. (This was the topic that generated all this :O) In Canada we have no law. The previous government skirted the issue. There must be some regulation, at some point it is simply too late. Abortion should not be a traditional birth control method.
I am tired of the waste in our government (Canada) and fed up with the very effective Liberal Party (Our Democrats) fear mongering re the right... (we have much in common there I think)

Now I could go through say, your last 500 posts and classify them as to conservative / liberal and score it that way. Anecdotally that is effectively what I did in using the 'tone' statement (but obviously only a quick perusal). Maybe I am wrong and you are not right of me but the above is a sample of my reasoning. Maybe it's yours to decide.

Now I don't want to discuss any other issues really... just a comparative of whether you think you are tot eh right of me politically. As you can see I'm not a garden variety liberal and the thing that fresc and I really agree on is that one should .. treasure our children Message 22108499
