James, You should read Don Coxe's book ... amazon.com Actually anyone investing in these things would do themselves a service in so doing... He addresses many macro issues very well. Bretton Woods or Petrodollars for example which allows the US to have the world support its debt and lifestyle... and the most compelling reason why many countries would like to break the link and bonds to it buy trading commodities in other currencies... Anyway Don spells it out much better than I do... Al
