Back on April 17 (post 8875) I mentioned that the junior oil sands stocks seemed to be falling out of favor compared to the large caps companies such as Suncor. An article today quoted Husky as looking for a US partner to help build an upgrader for its Sunrise project. Husky said the cost overruns they've seen with other Canadian companies has made them look for a partner and they said they already have a partner in mind. EnCana also is looking to partner with someone. The point that I have been trying to make is that junior, mid, and large cap that are not fully set up to produce oil are now caught in a financial and big schedule squeeze. The whole Alberta area is heating up into a frenzy. We used to talk about 'when' our companies would be bought out. Now IMHO no large cap energy stock would want to buy out our companies and just have to hold them over time knowing that production schedules will be delayed and meanwhile having to pay for leases, labor, etc. Companies that come to mind are CWPC, HAO.V, SOIGF, etc. I think this is a big issue with us that we have not too much talked about. If my thought process has gone down the wrong worry road, please give me some enlightening and encouraging thoughts that would mitigate this. Right now I could use some encouragement. Don
