I think you are right. That is why either Exxon or Shell (can't remember) decided to purchase their own leases a little while ago rather than partner up. A point I made some 200--300 posts ago. At the time everyone was saying I was wrong to exit CLL & PBG (by inference--they were arguing that both of them would pop again or be bought out), but I said the money would rotate to the majors who already had proved up assets while any further price run up in the juniors awaited the execution of their plans.

Of course the "hot money" has gone on to other juniors (SOIGF & CWPC) and will chase others too, but it is just a wind blowing through and not something will make a company absent on the ground development. Not to say you can't make money on the wind if your sails are trimmed right.

All of the above just my personal opinion of of course
