Al, good question, and I have only guesses for an answer. One would think that in 2011 the Trust will not have to pay the new "dividend" tax on a payment which is not a dividend, but a return of capital (I am just a very retired economist, not a tax lawyer, so WTFDIK?). There must be many similar "small print" points which I would hope that our so well informed Members of Parliament will pick up when/if the draft of the bill gets to the Committee stage. Tony.
