That party was decimated after Mulroney.. down to a handfule of seats ... Anyway Harper's grassroots originated movement is not the same animal. . Actually it's truly incredible just how much the Conservatives are in bed with big business... cbc.ca Asper was also prominent in the political life of Manitoba. In 1970, he became leader of the provincial Liberal party. In the 1973 provincial election, the Liberals captured just three seats, one of them Asper's. He left active politics and resigned his seat two years later, turning his priorities to the media. Oh there was the ultra conservative Conrad Black... and we know what happened to him LOL.. Yes we are seething hotbed of Conservative / Big Business intrigue... I think the better question is not about wasting time with Stratfor quoting truisms that are not true... I wonder if they are going to talk about Cameroon next ? but deciding when the trusts are a buy again :o) I have no trusts but am watching. Keep my oilsands ... you bet.. Al
